Tests Show Bentonville Schools’ Efforts To Help English Learners Are Working.


The Arkansas Democrat Gazette (9/9, Perozek) reports that the Bentonville School District is seeing that its efforts to help English learners are “paying off,” as the most recent English Language Development Assessment results “were higher this year than the district had seen in the previous three years,” according to the District’s Federal programs director Janet Schwanhausser. Schwanhausser noted that more District teachers “have achieved the English as a second language endorsement,” and many of those teachers “are exceptional.”
