The Chicago Tribune (9/15) reports educators are increasingly turning to crowd funding to raise money for special projects. The article shares the example of Eisenhower Middle School choir teacher Puja Ramaswamy who raised money for a new sound system for the school so that the parents of her students would be able to hear the choir better. Ramaswamy used the site DonorsChoose to raise money for the sound equipment. Crowd funding is a growing trend not just for teachers, but many government and nonprofit offices looking for money for projects.
