The Colorado Springs (CO) Gazette (9/15, Kelley) reports students at Explorer Elementary in Colorado Springs learned about STEM subjects, food, and community service by participating in the “Bake for Good” program over the weekend. On Friday, a representative from King Arthur Flour company taught the students how to make bread by requiring them to answer math and science questions about the process. Then the students take home a baking kit to make a loaf of bread at home, which they brought back on Monday to donate to a local charity.
