Curriculum Is A Key Issue Behind Teachers’ Strike In Washington District.

The Tri-City Herald (WA) (9/12, Beaver) reports curriculum is a key issue behind the ongoing teachers’ strike in Pasco School District in southwestern Washington. Pasco teachers say the district has not done enough to help teachers with the curriculum by providing inadequate funding and not making choices about what materials teachers should use. Some teachers say they spend many hours designing their own curriculum because the district has failed to make decisions and meet deadlines about what students should be taught.
