The Wilmington (DE) News Journal (9/10, Albright) reports teachers in Delaware are developing new ways to teach their students about the 9/11 terrorist attacks, an event that occurred before many of their students were born. One fifth grade teacher asks her students to interview their parents or other adults and ask, “Where were you? How did you feel? What did you do?” Another teacher wants his students to know about and appreciate the sacrifice of the first responders such as the firefighters and police officers. One high school art teacher encourages her students to make art projects that incorporate symbols of peace and freedom.
