Study: Mississippi Has The Most Disproportionate Response To Black Students In School Discipline.


The Jackson (MS) Clarion Ledger (9/5, Royals) reports a University of Pennsylvania study found that Mississippi has the most disproportionate response in school disciplinary actions against black students compared to other states. The study found that black students make up half of the student body in the state, but account for 74% of suspensions and 72% of expulsions.
