One Pennsylvania School District Openly Supports Standardized Testing.


The Philly (PA) (10/6, Boccella) reports some Pennsylvania schools are pushing back against criticism of standardized testing. Unionville-Chadds Ford School District “actually like standardized tests and are enthusiastic boosters of the Keystone and Pennsylvania System of School Assessment (PSSA) tests.” Students at Pocopson Elementary School in the district scored well on the test with 100% proficient in science, 95.1% proficient in English, and 87.3% proficient in math. Across the state, only 42.5% of students were found to be proficient in English and only 26.1% were found to be proficient in math.
