US News & World Report (9/30, Sargrad) reports California’s Common Core test results aligned with the results of other states showing that “a more rigorous and honest look at student performance produced scores that were lower than those under the old tests across the board.” California’s colleges have embraced the test as a measure of students’ college readiness. All of the state’s community colleges and California State University campuses will use a student’s test results to determine who needs remedial education.
