The New York Times (10/6, Hauser, Subscription Publication) reports that after an image from a high school geography textbook referring “to Africans brought to American plantations between the 1500s and 1800s as ‘workers,’ rather than slaves,” went viral online, McGraw-Hill Education “said it would make changes to the text, saying it can ‘do better.’”
