RTTT-Winning Districts Focusing On Social-Emotional Learning

Education Week (5/3, Shah) reports that the 16 districts that won district-level Race to the Top grants all had applications that "earned bonus points by pairing with outside groups on initiatives to improve students' social and emotional well-being and behavior." The piece notes that "applicants got an edge if they could show how they would leverage partner agencies to address students' social, emotional, or behavioral needs, ultimately improving academic achievement."
