Poll: Most Teachers Say They Need Common Core Training

The Washington Post (5/4, Layton) reports that according to a poll released by the American Federation of Teachers last week, though some 75% of teachers "support the Common Core," "most public school teachers feel unprepared to teach math and reading to the Common Core standards." The Post notes that "less than one-third said their school districts have given them the training and resources to teach to the new standards," and notes that the poll was released days after AFT President Randi Weingarten "called for a moratorium on consequences for at least one year until teachers and students across the country are sufficiently steeped in the Common Core standards."
