Education Observers Debate Cursive Instruction
In an online "Room for Debate" feature, the New York Times (4/30, Polikoff, Subscription Publication) relates essays by education observers on whether schools should teach cursive despite the fact that the Common Core Standards don't call for it. Education professor Morgan Polikoff, occupational therapist Suzanne Baruch, handwriting expert Kate Gladstone, and archivist Jimmy Bryant each offer opinions on the issue.
