Online Testing Glitches Raise Concerns About Common Core

Education Week (5/3, Davis) reports that the recent spate of glitches that derailed online testing in Indiana, Kentucky, Minnesota, and Oklahoma "have shaken the confidence of educators and policymakers in high-tech assessment methods and raised serious concerns about schools' technological readiness for the coming common-core online tests." The piece notes that many districts in Common Core states are "trying to ramp up their technological infrastructure to prepare for" mandatory online assessments, and gives details about the testing glitches. An NPR (5/4, Lieszkovszky) "StateImpact" article also covers this story, following on the Education Week story.
