Toolkit focuses on student-centered learning

In April 2009, European education ministers proclaimed in Leuven, Belgium, that "student-centered learning requires empowering individual learners, new approaches to teaching and learning, effective support and guidance structures."

One and a half years later, Education International (EI) and the European Students' Union (ESU) have joined together to launch a toolkit for student-centered learning (SCL).

Aimed at staff, students, and higher education institutions, the toolkit offers advice on the principles and definition of the concept as well as its practical implementation by academics and institutions. Cowritten by a team of experts from both EI and ESU, the toolkit is the result of an initial study entitled Student-Centered Learning: An Insight into Theory and Practice and a survey among EI and ESU members, followed by extensive research and a series of European and national activities combined with training on the advocacy of the concept of SCL.
