After driving the bus to Samoset Elementary in Samoset, Florida, for many years, the noise and chaos were taking their toll on Rosemary "Kookyi" Peterson. Then she came up with an idea to keep the kids quiet and aid their learning as well--Ms. Kookyi's Book Club. All students who participate in the club and turn in book reports earn prizes, and those who read the most books are eligible for special awards. Now the bus is quiet each day, with most students busy reading during the ride to and from school.
